We Made the Top 5 in Best of Racine County 2026!
We have some pretty exciting news to share. Maxilyn House has officially made the Top 5 in Best of Racine County 2026 in not one, but TWO categories:
Best Place to Find Unique Gifts
Best Customer Service – Retail
And honestly, this one means a lot. 🖤
Maxilyn House is a small shop tucked inside the historic Maltworks building at Belle City Square. We don’t have a storefront you can see while driving down the street, and we’re definitely not the biggest retail space in Racine. What we do have is a little shop filled with the work of more than 30 independent makers, a creative space where people can sit down and make something of their own, and a community that continues to show up for what we’re building here.
More Than a Place to Shop
When Maxilyn House began, the goal was never to simply fill shelves with products.
We wanted to create a place where handmade mattered. Where small makers had another opportunity to get their work in front of people. Where you could find something different from what you’d see in a big-box store.
Over time, that vision has grown into something even bigger.
Today, Maxilyn House is part handmade gift shop, part creative studio and part gathering place. You can stop in to discover something made by a local or independent maker, sit down at our Creative Table, try a walk-in project, join us for a workshop or simply wander around and see what’s new.
It all comes back to three little words:
Shop. Create. Connect.
Why These Two Categories Mean So Much
Being recognized as one of Racine County’s best places to find unique gifts feels incredibly fitting because uniqueness is at the heart of our shop.
Our shelves aren’t filled by one brand or one style. They represent dozens of creative people, each bringing something different to Maxilyn House. Every time someone chooses one of those pieces, they’re supporting the maker behind it too.
But being nominated for Best Customer Service – Retail might mean even more to us.
We’re a small business. There isn’t a corporate customer service department behind the scenes. There are simply real people who care deeply about the experience you have when you walk through our doors.
We want you to feel welcome here, whether you’re shopping for the perfect gift, trying something creative for the first time or just stopping in to look around.
