Our Story

Welcome to Maxilyn House, a Home for Creativity where handmade, creativity, and community come together.

We're Curtis and Rachel, a husband-and-wife team who have always loved creating. Whether it was DIY projects around the house, designing new products, or dreaming up our next idea, creativity has always been part of our story.

Today, Maxilyn House is more than a gift shop.

It's a place to discover handmade, create something with your own hands, connect with talented makers, and leave feeling inspired.

Maxilyn House is more than a name. It's a piece of our heart.

Inspired by our two children, Maximus and Madelyn, Maxilyn is a blend of their names and the reason behind everything we do. It reminds us every day why we started and the kind of place we hoped to build.

After more than 15 years together, filled with love, laughter, DIY disasters (and successes!), and countless creative projects, we knew we wanted to build something that reflected the things we value most: family, creativity, community, and home.

Like so many makers, our journey began with a simple idea, a love of creating, and a kitchen table full of possibilities.

One project led to another, and before long we found ourselves dreaming of something bigger.

From the very beginning, we knew Maxilyn House would be about more than our own creations.

We dreamed of building a place where talented makers could share their creativity, customers could discover one-of-a-kind handmade treasures, and creativity could become part of everyday life.

Today, that vision lives on in every corner of Maxilyn House.

While you'll still find many of our own creations throughout the shop, one of our greatest joys is creating a place where other makers can share their talents and customers can discover something that speaks to them.
