Learn to Crochet – Beginner Friendly Class!

Have you ever wanted to learn how to crochet but didn’t know where to start? This class is perfect for absolute beginners! We’ll take things slow, learn the basic stitches step-by-step, and help you build confidence with the hook and yarn.

This is a learning class first - the goal is to make sure you feel comfortable with the basics so you can keep practicing at home!

🧶 What to Expect:

This class is meant to teach you the basics of crochet. You will learn:

  • Difference in hooks and yarn types
  • How to make a slipknot
  • How to create a chain
  • How to work into the chain
  • How to Single Crochet and Half Double Crochet

Depending on time and skill levels we may practice more advanced stitches (Double Crochet and Triple Crochet) or work on a small project, but this is NOT guaranteed.

🧶 What’s Included:
To help you continue learning after class, you’ll go home with a beginner-friendly starter kit:

  • One 5mm crochet hook

  • A 50g skein of yarn

  • Stitch markers

  • Large-eye crochet sewing needle

  • Access to our Crochet Club Facebook Group page where we have tutorials to refresh your new skills

Class is approximately 2-2.5 hours

📍 Location:
Maxilyn House inside Maltworks
2224 Northwestern Ave, Racine, WI 53404
Suite #100

Please note: the instructor is right-handed, so left-handed learners may benefit from extra support from a left-handed crocheter.

Workshop Attendance & Cancellation Policy

Seats are limited and our workshops often sell out. Because materials and seating are prepared in advance, all workshop registrations are non-refundable.

If you’re unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your seat to a friend or family member at any time — just let us know the new guest’s name ahead of the workshop.

Transfers & Cancellations

  • Registrations are non-refundable.
  • Seats may be transferred to another person if you cannot attend.
  • If materials have already been prepared specifically for you, substitutions or changes to the project are not available.

Late Arrivals
Guests arriving more than 15 minutes late may miss important instruction or may not be able to participate fully. If your materials have already been prepared, late arrivals will be treated as attended and the full workshop fee applies.

No-Shows
If a guest does not attend and does not notify us in advance, the workshop fee is forfeited and materials may not be held.

We understand that life happens. If something unexpected comes up, please reach out as soon as possible — early notice gives us the best chance to offer your seat to another guest.
